FAQs

Booking an Appointment
How do I make an appointment?
Simply call the number at the top of this page.
Or you can fill out the form on our Contact Us page.

Do I need to get a doctor's referral before I make an appointment with you?
We are happy to treat you with a doctors referral. However, you don't need a doctor's referral and we can work closely with your doctor, if needed. We are able to provide an ACC form for accident related injuries.

Do I need to be a patient of the Auckland Family Medical Centre to attend Move Physiotherapy clinic?
No, we are happy to treat all patients of the Auckland Family Medical Centre as well as members of the public not registered with the Auckland Family Medical Centre.

Will ACC cover an accident-related injury?
We can provide you with an ACC form to complete at your first appointment and we will send it to ACC on your behalf. ACC will then decide whether your claim is accepted.

How long are appointments?
Your initial appointment will take between 45 minutes to an hour, and your subsequent appointments will be 30 minutes. However if your injury requires longer treatment time we can be flexible in your appointment length.

How many treatments will I need?
Everyone is different and it will depend on the type of problem you have. During your first appointment we will assess and diagnose your problem and determine your Personalised Treatment Plan. It is at this point that we will be able to give you an idea of the timeframe to full recovery.

Your First Appointment
What will happen on my first appointment?
Please arrive a few minutes early to complete your patient registration form.
If you have an accident-related injury we also have all the necessary ACC documents.

In our private treatment room, we will conduct a complete assessment of your condition - this includes discussing any past injuries and a thorough examination.

Based on this assessment we will explain our diagnosis in a way that is easy to understand and create your Personalised Treatment Plan that can be emailed to you for reference at home.

Because of the extent of this consultation our first appointments are between 45 to 60 minutes long.

What should I wear?
It is preferable to wear loose, comfortable clothing so we can successfully treat you. Depending on the location of your injury you may be asked to remove clothing and we have modesty gowns and shorts in such instances.

What should I bring anything with me?
Bring any X-rays or other test results with you to help with diagnosis.

Can I bring someone with me?
You are welcome to bring a friend or family member with you.

Is there parking available?
Yes, there is off-street parking and also parking spaces on the road.

What if I need to change my appointment?
Just call us to arrange a new time. If you notify us at least 4 hours before your appointment time you will not incur the non-attendance fee.

Payment

Payment is required at the end of each appointment
